This Wayne Dalton outside Step Plate and Lift Handle is perfect for most garage doors 1" in thickness. The mounting pattern is 2⅜" on center and the depth of the step is 1¼".  For doors 1⅜" - 2" thick you may need the Inside Step Plate as well.
